Detailed Description
 

The Web template solution was created in response to increasing use of intranets as repositories for Corporate templates and e-forms. Unfortunately a limitation with Word templates in a browser is that the VBA code does not execute, rendering the template functionality inactive.

Web Templates Solution resolves this issue allowing fully functional Word templates to be integrated with the corporate intranet.

Word Menu
The Web Template Solution creates and dynamically manages a hierarchical Web Template menu within Word. This menu provides a convenient and logical access for individual web templates as well as allowing easy access to the originating web templates intranet site.
The Word Web Template menu also provides access to locally cached web templates when off-line.

Externalising variables
To minimise the lead-time & expense involved in minor textual updates, eWord Development's employs a strategy to externalise text items that are identified or suspected of change over time.  The template then populates any externalised variables on initialisation from the reference. 

Reference files are generally text-only and able to be easily edited without specific technical skills. Reference files are updated via the Web Template Solution's integrated versioning feature.
